Hemington Primary School is the latest school to announce that on the 1st August 2018 the School converted to Academy status and simultaneously joined the Midsomer Norton Schools’ Partnership Multi Academy Trust (MAT).
Approved by the Secretary of State for Education, this conversion will allow the School to have more control over its day to day operations within the support network offered by the MNSP MAT which now operates nine primary schools in the Midsomer Norton area as well as the two secondary schools in the town and St Dunstan’s secondary in Glastonbury.
Naomi de Chastelain, Headteacher commented “We are thrilled to have become a part of the Midsomer Norton Schools’ Partnership. The MAT provides the opportunities for us to work closely with other local schools to ensure we are giving the very best support to our children and families. At Hemington we pride ourselves in being an inclusive school with a family atmosphere. We believe by joining the extended family of the Midsomer Norton Schools’ Partnership we will be in an excellent position to take the School into the future whilst continuing to be a unique village school”.
MAT CEO and Executive Headteacher Alun Williams said: “I am delighted that Hemington Primary has decided to join the Midsomer Norton Schools’ Partnership. I really look forward to working with the staff and children at the school, as do all those colleagues and children who are already part of the Midsomer Norton Schools’ Partnership”.
